DUANE AND JAN AMOS made it to the dog barn on the first day of the 2016 Shiawassee County Fair. They are recognized as the founders of the Shiawassee County 4-H dog program. The dog barn, which is only two years old, was dedicated in their honor in 2015.

Three canine 4-H clubs now regularly utilize the building, including Doggie Diggers, Hush Puppies and Clever Dogs. All three clubs have been busy showing in Showmanship, Obedience, Rally-O, Agility and Team throughout the week.
