The Community District Library will offer patrons the ability to have their fines forgiven and help those in need in their communities Nov. 9-14 during their annual Food for Fines campaign. For each unexpired nonperishable food item, health & beauty or paper product that is brought to the library branches that week, $1 will be deducted from outstanding fines. To encourage the return of overdue materials, items that are returned that week will also have the late fees waived. The donations cannot be used to pay for lost materials, collection fees or to purchase nonresident cards. All donations will be distributed to food pantries in the communities that the CDL serves.
Community District Library has branches in Bancroft, Byron, Corunna, Lennon, Morrice, New Lothrop & Perry. For more information about all events and activities visit www.mycdl.org.
