Capital Area Community Services, Inc. is taking applications for the Commodity SupplementalFood Program. This program provides nutritious food on a monthly basis tolow-income residents of Shiawassee County who are 60 years of age or above.Persons sixty years of age or older (130 percent Federal Poverty Guidelines) may beeligible. To qualify, individuals must live in Shiawassee County and meet programguidelines.
Family size for 130 percent of FPG poverty guidelines on maximum income: one,$15,171; two, $20,449; three, $25,727; each additional member add, $5,278.Distribution will begin March 3: Perry City Hall, 203 W. Polly, Perry, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.;then Durand Eagles Club, 5230 S. New Lothrop Road, Durand, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.Starting March 4 through 13 at Capital Area Community Services, 1845 Corunna Avenue(M-71), Owosso, 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m.CHANGES: Must include the cost of your Medicare if you are drawing Social Security.Children under the age of 6 not on WIC are no longer eligible for this program.Please note the change of distribution dates in Owosso.
