Capital Area Community Services, Inc. is taking applications for the Commodity Supplemental Food Program, which provides nutritious food, on a monthly basis to low-income residents of Shiawassee County who are 60 years of age or above.

Persons sixty years of age or older (130 percent Federal Poverty Guidelines) may be eligible.

For a family size of one, 130 percent of poverty, under the FPG, is a maximum yearly income of $15,301; for a family size if two, $20,709; for a family size of three, $26,117. For each additional family member, add $5,408 to the maximum yearly income level.

Distribution begins Dec. 8, 2015, 10 to 11 a.m. at Perry City Hall, 203 W. Polly in Perry; then at the Durand Eagles Club, 5230 S. New Lothrop Road, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Starting Dec. 9 and continuing through Dec. 18, the food will be available at Capital Area Community Services, 1845 Corunna Avenue (M-71), between Owosso and Corunna, 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. For any questions, persons may call (989) 723-3115.
