MORRICE BUCK Pole Committee members can be seen after a recent shopping excursion at Walmart in Owosso, where the group filled five shopping carts with $1,500 worth of toys for Shiawassee County children. The funds were raised from the 2018 Morrice Buck Pole, which was held on Thursday, Nov. 15, on the opening day of the firearm hunting season. Additionally, this year’s Morrice Buck Pole raised enough money that the committee was able to donate $2,000 to the local food bank and $500 to local police departments.
The committee raised a large portion of the proceeds from sign advertisers, a gun raffle – with the gun being donated by M & S Tire – and a dollar raffle, and the committee has already secured commitments from many advertisers for the 2019 Morrice Buck Pole.
Shown following the shopping trip at Walmart are committee members (from left) Wendy Valentine, Mark Locke, Sue Locke, Howard Locke and Tim Valentine.
