THE OFFICE BUILDING that sits at 223 and 225 Shiawassee St. in Corunna, which was formerly owned by attorney Arnold Dunchock, has been purchased from auction by Michael Luongo of Lansing. Luongo purchased the two parcels for $200 plus the back taxes, which amounted to a little more than $1,000. The building has been described as an older, two-story commercial building that includes apartments on the upper level. It is noted that the building has been condemned by the city of Corunna, and the condition of the building is listed as “Poor” with “Extensive Debris.” The city red-tagged and cordoned off the building due to its state of deterioration. The roof and west wall pose a risk of falling debris.

Had the building not been purchased in its second round of bidding by Luongo, the property would have been sold by the city to the Michigan Land Bank. The property received no bids during its first round at auction, which concluded in September of 2017.
