THE BERTHA NEAL AND ROBERT KERR PTAC organizations will host the 2nd annual community-wide Color Splash FUNDrun by Get Active Fundraising on Sunday, Sept. 23 at 10 a.m. The Color Splash FUNDrun is an untimed 5K fun-run for all ages and fitness abilities.
This year’s Color Splash course will begin at Robert Kerr and will take participants on a scenic tour of the Durand Area Schools’ expansive main campus. Along the route, participants will pass through vibrant color zones, making the event a “colorful experience.” Additionally, each pre-registered participant will be provided with a powder color packet of their own that will be thrown in the air during the final color celebration at the finish line.
“Rather than raising funds by selling material or consumable products, we want to engage the entire student body in a fitness initiative that aims to encourage a life-long healthy way of living,” say organizers.
Participants who register by Friday, Sept. 7 will receive a t-shirt, race bib and individual color packet. To sign up, visit www.secure.getactivefundraising.com and search for the Bertha Neal and Robert Kerr PTAC event. Business sponsorship opportunities are also available. Interested individuals can also contact the Bertha Neal and Robert Kerr PTAC, (989) 288-2016, for more information or to request paper registration forms.
The 2017 Durand Color Splash FUNDrun was concluded with a final color celebration in front of Robert Kerr Elementary. Last year’s participants can be seen showering each other with packets of colored powder, which created quite the impressively large cloud.
