The city of Durand will welcome residents and other interested parties to join city staff for an informational session at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, June 28 to review the proposed project scope for the 2017/2018 road improvement project. The discussion will focus on Phase I of an anticipated three-phase project, which will run through 2020.
Phase I road improvements include coating select minimally to moderately damaged roadways, and resurfacing several moderately to majorly damaged roadways. This includes resurfacing S. Oak St. from Main St. south to the city limits. During Phase I, projects which require additional underground systems work, such as known water or wastewater maintenance, will not be included.
Those projects will be incorporated into Phase II and Phase III, with a higher concentration on underground system improvements in 2019 and 2020.
Funding for the multi-year road improvement project is supported through a voter-approved road millage. For more information, persons are asked to please contact Colleen O’Toole, Durand City Manager, cotoole@durandmi.com.
