OWOSSO HISTORICAL COMMISSION welcomed the public to their annual Holiday Celebration – Christmas at the Castle on Thursday, Dec. 8 at the Curwood Castle Writing & Conservation Studio Museum. The first of chilly temperatures made the lights on the outside of the Castle sparkle, as shown, as guests made their way into the Castle to view the holiday decor.

Guests also had the opportunity to participate in a silent auction with many of the items donated from local businesses and private individuals. All proceeds from the auction were to go to the maintenance, renovation, and restoration of Owosso’s Four Historical Museums.

Also available were gourmet appetizers and hors d’oeuvres provided courtesy of Imagineline, Map Reality-Kelly Bila, and Swartz Funeral Home with beverages courtesy of Ludington Electric. The display, shown here, brought delight to many of the visitors at the event.

From Thursday, Dec. 15 through Friday, Dec. 23 and Tuesday, Dec. 27 through Friday, Dec. 30, Curwood Castle will be open to the public from 6 to 8 p.m. to allow the community to enjoy the Christmas and holiday decorations. During these evening hours only, admission to the Castle will be free. This will be in addition to our regular hours which are Tuesday through Sunday, 1 to 5 p.m. Curwood Castle will be closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, as well as on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. Curwood Castle is also regularly closed on Mondays. (Independent Photo/Elizabeth Wehman)
