THE CHESANING CHAMBER of Commerce welcomed new business member I Care Advocate Consultants LLC with a ribbon cutting at the chamber office on Wednesday, Jan. 3. Catherine Moore, insurance specialist and business owner, was joined by her friend, Marcia Palko-Weisenberger, and members of the Chesaning Chamber Board of Directors and Marketing Committee to celebrate the occasion.

  I Care Advocate Consultants LLC offers personal and professional consultant services to help individuals, families and businesses navigate the healthcare insurance system, and they can act as an advocate with appeals and unjust charges. They also can help businesses explain benefits to their employees, as well as give HR specialists advice on choosing plans. Additional services inclsude assistance with discovering billing errors and more. Moore states that she has a special place in her heart for seniors and veterans, offering them a 50 percent discount on initial assessments. In addition, she supports hospice in the state of Michigan with a 1 percent donation of all profits.

  Moore’s inspiration for the business comes from her experience advocating for her mother, Elda E. Straty, who passed away from liver cancer in April 2015. She acted as her mother’s legal health advocate, winning many appeals and insurance-related issues for her and others in her family.
