SHIAWASSEE COUNTY Sheriff’s Sergeant and 2016 Republican candidate for Sheriff, Brian BeGole, held a “Fall Color Tour” train ride and dinner fundraiser Saturday, Oct. 24, that began at the Steam Railroading Institute in Owosso and traveled to Centennial Hall in Mt. Pleasant for a prime rib and chicken dinner, before making the trip back to Owosso Saturday evening. BeGole says he is eager to improve the Sheriff’s Department that has experienced severe financial troubles and many cuts over the last few years.

“This campaign is all about bringing people together to fix the Sheriff’s Department,” said BeGole before boarding the train. “It belongs to the people of Shiawassee County and they deserve better. We are going to look at everything and make the difficult changes that need to be made. I have been overwhelmed by the support I have received across the county.”

The roughly 500 guests who made the trip to Mt. Pleasant included Durand City Council members Dr. Brian Boggs and Jeff Brands; Byron Village Council members Tony Prestonise and Hugh Miller; Bancroft Police Chief James LePage; Owosso Mayor Ben Frederick; Durand Police Chief Jason Hartz; and Shiawassee Township Supervisor Anthony Karhoff.
