Election of a low-income representative for Shiawassee County to the Capital Area Community Services Board of Directors is scheduled for noon to 1 p.m. Sept. 24 at the CACS building, 1845 Corunna Avenue (M-71), Owosso, 48867.
Participation of the low-income population on Community Action boards and committees is required. The result is that participants actively participate in the planning of programs, policies, actions and services available within their area.
Participants elected to community action boards must meet income eligibility and residency guidelines.
“Anyone interested in assisting low-income residents in Shiawassee County is asked to please plan on attending the Sept. 24th meeting to cast their ballot or, perhaps, become an elected board member for CACS,” it was stated. More information may be obtained by calling (989) 723-3115.
