Memorial Healthcare will host an American Red Cross blood drive from 10 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 6 at Memorial’s auditorium, located at 826 W. King St. in Owosso. Despite the fact that giving blood is easy, safe, and takes less than one hour, only five percent of eligible Americans donate blood. To donate, one must be healthy, at least 17 years old, and weigh 110 pounds or more. Healthy donors are the only source of blood, so anyone who has been putting off being a donor is encouraged to donate now.
