Two $500 scholarships are being offered at Laingsburg High School for all graduating seniors in memory of BIG A (Jason E. Andersen), a 1995 graduate of Laingsburg High School (LHS). Prior to his passing at the young age of 31, Jason coached many students in both football and basketball, and counseled at-risk students. His legacy of helping students in need is being continued through financial assistance, via the scholarships at his former alma mater high school.
To qualify for the scholarships, applicants must be a graduating LHS senior and in good academic standing. Participation in school-based and non-school-based activities will be considered, in addition to future study area/goals and any special circumstances that applicants may have encountered in their life. Scholarships will be presented at the LHS Awards Ceremony on Thursday, May 24.
Applications are available for pick-up at the counselor’s office at Laingsburg High School. All applications must be turned in to the counselor’s office at LHS by 4 p.m. on Monday, April 30, or postmarked by Monday, April 30 to: BIG A Scholarship, Janice Andersen, 514 E.
