“Fill A Back Pack Drawing” continues until Sept. 1, with the Vernon District Public Library collecting items to fill a Back to School Backpack.
Children ages 5 through 16 will be able to enter the drawing at Toney’s Pizzeria, Village Hair Shoppe and at the library. The winner will be notified Tuesday, Sept. 1, after 5 p.m.
The library’s announcement said: “If you would like to donate any of the following items, please drop them off at the library during open hours: notebooks, paper, pencils, pens, crayons, colored pencils, glue sticks, school glue, pencil top erasers, 3-ring binder, folders, tissues, disinfectant wipes, hand sanitizer, after school snacks: snack crackers, granola bars, fruit snacks, juice pouches, cookie snack packs, fruit cups and so on. Thank you for helping our children succeed.”
