The Shiawassee Arts Center (SAC) is set to open a new exhibit featuring the works of artists and friends, Jim Ames, Bill Anderson, Anni Crouter, Alicia Geromel, Donna Kurtz, Jim Legacy, and Sherry Nelson. The exhibit opens Tuesday, June 27 and runs through August 6, and is generously sponsored by DayStarr Communications, Richard and Elaine Reynolds, Dr. Michael Schmidt, and Clark Shanahan. The public is welcome to attend the opening reception to enjoy good food and drinks with the artists from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, June 30. SAC Members will receive 20 percent off one featured artist item during the reception.
The Shiawassee Arts Center, located at 206 Curwood Castle Dr. in Owosso, is open from noon to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, as well as from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The SAC features the artwork of local and statewide artists in eight galleries, including the Frieseke Gallery, and a specialty gift shop. The public is welcome and there is no admission charge. SAC, which is celebrating its 45th anniversary in 2017, is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to encourage participation and appreciation of the arts.
