The Corunna Parks and Recreation Commission will host the second annual Applefest in McCurdy Park Sept. 24 through 27 with proceeds going to McCurdy Park restoration. The Applefest is sponsored by Fifth Third Bank. The Craft Show and Flea Market will be available all four days. Persons may contact Joy, (989) 666-8163, for space information.

New events this year are an Apple Pie Bake Off, BBQ Smoke Off and Corunna Rotary Auction. Contacts for the Apple Pie Bake Off are through City Hall, (989) 743-3650. For the BBQ Smoke Off (with proceeds used to repair the roof on the Jaycee Pavilion, persons may contact Theresa, (810) 210-2967 or Cindy, (810) 515-6409. For the Corunna Rotary Auction, the contact is Joe at (989) 743-3650. All entry forms are available at Corunna City Hall, open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

Also added this year on Saturday are a Car Show for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., a 1-K Run by Pat’s Place at

11 a.m. The Corunna Historical Village of Shiawassee County on the west side of McCurdy Park will be open noon to 4 p.m. There will be Corunna VFW Bingo noon to 3 p.m.

“This family event includes Elliot Amusement Carnival Rides, an Antique Tractor Show 9 a.m. to

3 p.m., concession trailers, apple pies, ice cream, cider, doughnuts and lots of fun,” said Carol Spaniola.

The schedule is 3 to 10 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24; 3 to 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25; noon to 10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26; and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 27.
