AL SHATTUCK STATE FARM INSURANCE, located at 111 N. Hickory St., Owosso, had an unexpected event happen on Friday, Sept. 15, when a driver parked to the south of the main entrance, accidentally drove forward into the building. Nobody, including the driver was injured in the accident, though the brick structure sustained considerable damage. The vehicle actually pushed through the south, front wall into the office of an employee who was assisting a client at the time. The employee’s chair was shoved into her desk, but the armrests of her chair protected her from the impact.
Shattuck (above) was happy to report that, “Through God’s grace, nobody was injured. This was completely accidental.” The business reopened Monday, Sept. 18.
Coincidentally, this is the third time the State Farm Insurance business has been damaged by being struck by a vehicle in recent years.
