The American Legion Post 57 held a ceremony Monday, Sept. 11 honoring local first responders from the community. The ceremony included members from Owosso Police Department, Owosso Public Safety, Corunna Police Department, Shiawassee County Sheriff Department, Corunna Caledonia Fire Department and Owosso Fire Department. All departments within the county were invited to attend.

During the short ceremony, Owosso Mayor Chris Eveleth and State Representative Ben Frederick spoke about the significance of 9/11, Marlene Webster gave the benediction, and Madison Kregger sang “God Bless America.” After the ceremony, first responders were invited inside for dinner, provided by the American Legion.
