WITH THE MONTH of April being Child Abuse Prevention Month, the Durand Police Department has joined in the fight against child abuse by placing blue and silver pinwheels in front Durand City Hall as a show of support for child abuse awareness. According to the Child Advocacy Center of Owosso (CAC), “Pinwheels are a happy and uplifting symbol of childhood, but as a campaign symbol, the pinwheel conveys a message that every child deserves the chance to be raised in a healthy, safe, and nurturing environment.”
