MARC HENDZEL of Perry was recently announced as the winner of the 4-H Youth of the Year award. Marc was presented with a jacket and a cash award of $250. In addition to being in the Hoot N Holler 4-H Club (showing goats, pigs, beef, rabbits, poultry, and crafts), Marc is the president of the 4-H Ambassadors Club, and is very involved in FFA at Perry High School.
The 4-H Adult Volunteer of the Year award was presented to Susan Kingsbury Klim of Lennon, who said, “4-H was a big part of my farming family as I was growing up. I was a 4-H member for nine years in sewing and horses, and my mom was a 4-H leader for many years. I love volunteering, working with kids, and sharing my knowledge of rabbits, so it just made sense to become a 4-H leader. The Hare Raisers 4-H Club is going into its fifth year. I feel that the 4-H program has so much to offer our youth, and it has such a huge impact on how they will live their adult lives. I really wanted to be a part of that.” Susan is married and has a 15-year-old son, Michael, who has been in 4-H since he was five years old.
