Byron’s F. Ruggles Building, which houses Balanced Body Yoga, Massages by Vicki and the Nest Gifts, is expanding to include more health and wellness options for the surrounding community. The building now offers Zumba classes taught by Bev Wolfe Thursday mornings, and Jazzercise classes Tuesday and Thursday mornings. The staff will also be adding Tai Chi to its extensive list of services any day now.

In addition to strengthening the bodies of its customers, the staff has also made it a priority to encourage positivity of mind. They hold regular workshops in the F. Ruggles Building, 204 S. Saginaw St., including the upcoming two-part empowerment workshop called “Girl Power,” which will focus on encouraging girls ages seven through 12 to realize the importance of their inner beauty.

The staff also recently held its second-annual “Ladies’ Night,” which brought local vendors and residents together in an effort to support women in business. The list of vendors and services included a hypnotherapist, a doTerra product representative, a Nourished Soul nutritionist, Origami Owl jewelry, a FITTEAM product representative, chair massages, and Double Take Salon of Linden. Food was provided by Byron’s Downtown Deli and Matador Pizza of Byron.

The F. Ruggles Building will feature more outdoor activities in the upcoming months, including an outdoor market to support the care and preservation of the historic building, which was dedicated and renamed last summer. Going along with their ongoing efforts to restore the building, the staff is seeking a person willing to write grants that could be used to continue their overhaul of the former dentist office.
