THE 100+ WOMEN Who Care of the Greater Owosso Area met on Monday, Feb. 4 the at D’Mar Banquet & Conference Center in Owosso for their first of three meetings of 2019. The group welcomed 22 new members since their fall 2018 meeting, including seven new members who signed up on Monday. With the 22 new members, the group’s total donation amount surpassed the $23,000 mark, to $23,800, for the first time since the organization was started in 2016. Even more impressively, the Feb. 4 donation pushed the group’s total amount donated to $207,000.

The group heard three presentations, on behalf of Homeless Angels, the Shiawassee Goodfellows and the Friends of the Shiawassee River. Each speaker was given five minutes to describe the nonprofit organization they were speaking for, followed by a five-minute question and answer session.

In the end, the group selected the Shiawassee Goodfellows as the recipient of the $23,800 donation. Goodfellows volunteer Christine Mitchell spoke on behalf of the Shiawassee Goodfellows.
